Well I waited until the 27th and I still can not log onto the game.

Originally I had the 105 problem, but then the afternoon of the 26th the system finally accepted my password and said I was authorized for tonights event.

So now, at about 1, I try to log on but it won't let me create a character. It asks me if I want to make a role playing or a pure pvp player and, no matter which one I select it then asks me to enter my game key. I enter my game key again and I get the error that I already have that game key entered, and there is no option to allow me to go beyond that point and to make a character.

Please help.

What the hell, I have the game as well, bought it today on the 27th and I also get to the create a character screen and am then routed to the "add a new key" screen. What the heck is that about? And what time zone is EDT and PDT? Never even heard of them.....

From what I was able to discern is that "pre-ordering" the full game is not the same as buying or ordering the "pre-order" box.
I went and "pre-ordered" the game before release, but cannot play until the 28th because it was not a pre-order box.
I made GameSpot refund my overnight shipping for their deception.

Sooo if we bought the game off of the shelf with no pre order involved we cant play until the 28th. Is that what your saying?

That's exactly it.
The game isn't supposed to be out untill tomorrow, which is th 28th, that's the official release date, although a lot of stores have it on the shelves already, it seems.

the preorder will cover wed-thur but you need retail to continue

the retail alone will start thur till who knows

Sounds like a botched launch to me.

it happens a lot with release. Half life 2 got out before the validation servers were open. The compaines generally put it on the shelf before hand. I like it that why if i was at the store on wed i wouldnt have to go on thur which is far busier for me.

I still dont have mycopy

i do not think the release date was a hard date but rather a soft date, from what i hear

Your kidding me right? The servers dont open up till the 28th? What time on the 28th? This is a botched release, turn the stupid things on already.......

Yup I just checked the news on the homepage and your right, the game does not launch until 12:01 PDT (what is that in central standard time? anyone know?) April 28th. Great way to start the launch of guild wars.by having people get pissed, yeah im having fun, are you?.............NOT

I too was frustrated to find I could not actually play the game until the 28th. I think the marketing could have been better. Perhaps an insert with the game, explaining the actual launch date according to which copy of the software purchased. A little more thought should have gone into this process. Hope this is not a sign of things to come. Keeping fingers crossed. Looking forward to logging.

The main website has said the 28th for quite some time. It's not there fault if retail stores put the item on the shelf early.

Sorry to ruin it for y'all but it's not PDT but PST it says so in game for me.

it says I can't play until 28th of April 12:01 AM (PST)

and I've checked PST.. is.. GMT-8..
and that's in like.. 8 hours and 45 minutes.

I cannot log in to get a character either.

I don't have the Beta key or Pre-order key (I pre-ordered, but they never gave me the key)

I have the retail box w. installation and all.

EDIT: Wow, okay I'm stupid. So I have to wait until tomorrow. Lame. Idiotic gamestop didn't give me a pre-order box. Gah.

RETAILERS JUST WAIT
